ADHD‑VR‑Simulation
The ADHD VR simulation allows users to experience how everyday situations feel for people with ADHD. The aim is to raise awareness among teachers and carers and give them new perspectives on perception, focus and stimulus processing. The application is being developed in collaboration with BeLEARN and PHBern - scientifically sound, technically innovative and user-centred.
Features
Co-Creation with those affected – development based on the principle of "nothing about us without us"
Psychoeducational elements – promoting empathy and understanding through interactive reflection
Scientifically supported – research and evaluation by BeLEARN and PHBern
Technical stable & intuitive – developed and optimised for Meta Quest 3
Immersive learning – realistic scenarios with a focus on perception and stimulus processing
Technichal approach
Unity-based development– Implementation with Unity and Meta Quest 3 SDK for maximum performance and stability
Iterative prototyping – Agile development in short test cycles with stakeholders and experts
User-centered design – Clear interaction patterns, reduced UI and intuitive controls for first-time users
Real-time rendering & sound design – Optimised scenes and audio effects for an immersive experience of focus, distraction and sensory overload.
Research & feedback-loop – Integration of evaluation results directly into the development process (co-creation between BeLEARN, PHBern and afca)
Further development & outlook
The project is still under active development. In the next phases, additional scenarios and psychoeducational modules will be implemented, accompanied by further tests and research results. The aim is to create a proven, practical tool that supports educational institutions and strengthens empathy for people with ADHD.
